Pretty Paws Grooming FAQ's

General Grooming & Services

Our comprehensive grooming process includes a deep-cleaning bath, blow-drying, a breed-specific haircut or tidy-up, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and a finishing spray. We always tailor our services to your dog’s specific coat type and personality.

Yes! Our experienced groomers have over a decade of hands-on experience with everything from tiny toy breeds to giant working dogs. Whether your pup has a thick double coat, curly "Doodle" fur, or a sleek short coat, we have the expertise to handle them with care.

While the SPCA recommends a bath at least every three months, most of our clients visit every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain a healthy coat and prevent matting. Regular visits also allow us to keep their nails at a safe length and their ears clean.

Safety & Specialty Care

Absolutely. We specialize in working with difficult or nervous dogs. Our salons offer a calm, quiet atmosphere, and our team is trained to use gentle, patient handling techniques. We never rush the process; we focus on making your dog feel safe and secure.

Yes. Every member of our grooming team is First Aid and CPR certified. We prioritize your pet's safety above all else, ensuring they are in capable and prepared hands from the moment they walk through our doors.

Yes, we offer medicated flea and tick baths designed to kill active pests on contact and soothe the resulting skin irritation. We recommend these treatments be paired with a long-term preventative plan from your veterinarian.

Health & Maintenance

Professional trimming or grinding prevents nails from overgrowing, which can lead to joint pain, broken nails, or infections. We use safe, effective tools to get the nails as short as possible without causing discomfort.

We offer a teeth brushing and breath-freshening service as an add-on. This helps reduce plaque and tartar buildup, promoting better oral health and fresher breath between veterinary dental cleanings.

Add-ons like deep conditioning, de-shedding treatments, or aromatherapy allow us to customize the groom to your dog's specific needs. For example, deep conditioning is excellent for the dry Idaho climate, while de-shedding is essential for double-coated breeds.

Appointments & Logistics

The duration depends on your dog’s size, coat condition, and the services requested. Generally, an appointment takes between 2 to 4 hours. We focus on quality and comfort rather than speed.

Yes! We proudly serve the entire Treasure Valley with three convenient locations in Meridian, Nampa, and Parma. Each shop maintains the same high standards of care and professionalism.
